Fish We Almost Always Have In-Stock

Throughout the year, we stock a wide array of fresh, wild-caught fish options. Depending on the season and where our boats have fished, we have different kinds and types of seafood available. We sell whole and filleted fish, and we even clean them for you. Some species like Hogfish and Tilefish are somewhat rare to find in our market while others, like Red Snapper are almost always in stock. In this article, we’ll break down the options you’re almost always going to find available at the market, both in-person and online.

Grouper Species We Stock

We sell a plethora of different Grouper species throughout the year, including Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Yellowedge Grouper, and Snowy Grouper. Among these, Red Grouper is the one that’s almost always available on our online shop and our store in Don’s Dock. Due to the Red Grouper’s healthy population and our commercial fishing permits, we are able to source a high volume of Red Grouper all year long from the Gulf of Mexico.

If you’re not sure which Grouper to buy, we always recommend trying Red Grouper. Compared to other fish, the flavor of this Grouper is a bit more powerful. The mild white meat features firmer meat and larger flakes. Red Grouper is also a great source of nutrients, including vitamins B6 and B12, protein, potassium, selenium, and phosphorus.

Even if you’re watching your calorie intake, eating this fish should not be a problem. For a 3oz serving of Red Grouper, you only get 100 calories. That’s only 5% of the daily calorie intake of someone who’s on a 2,000-calorie diet. There are also no carbs, and there are only unsaturated fats in grouper.

Here at Wild Seafood Market, we only supply sustainably sourced Red Grouper. And since we are the supplier, you can enjoy the freshest catch at the lowest prices. Each fish we sell includes our traceable Gulf Wild Tag. You can scan the QR code to find out all the details about the fish you bought – where we harvested it, what boat unloaded it, and more.

Our market price as of February 2022 is roughly $36 per pound for Red Grouper fillets and about $9 per pound for the whole fish. When you place your order from our online shop, you can choose to have your Red Grouper filleted and cleaned. And if you live in Florida, you can have your orders shipped through Ground Shipping – cheaper than the Overnight option for out-of-state orders.

Snapper Species We Stock

We ship about 5,000lbs to 40,000lbs of fresh fish commercially. And we stock various kinds of seafood, including many Snapper species. We often have available among the snappers are Vermillion Snapper, Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, and Red Snapper. The latter is what we almost always have, and it’s also the tastiest among the group.

Red Snapper features a distinctly sweet but savory flavor. The delicious white meat is flaky and delicate. Many prefer cooking Red Snapper fillets by pan-frying. This fish goes well with simple salt and pepper seasoning and the more elaborate marinades with herbs and spices.

Aside from the taste, Red Snapper is also a great source of protein, vitamins, and other minerals, including magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, and calcium. This fish is an ideal choice if you are looking for a protein source that’s lean and tasty. The vitamin A and potassium that you can get from this fish are excellent for the immune system and metabolism.

If you order Red Snapper online, you are looking at paying an average of $30 per pound of fillets. Whole fish typically costs around $12 per pound. Here at Wild Seafood Market, we usually charge approximately $10 per pound for a whole Red Snapper. You have the option to choose whether you want your fish filleted or just cleaned and shipped whole. However, any fish weighing more than 5 pounds will be shipped filleted because of the size and our shipping cooler restraints.

Customers in Florida can have their Red Snapper orders shipped using Ground Shipping. But we can only ship out-state orders Overnight. However, if you live near our store at Don’s Dock, you can choose local pickup and swing by to get your order – no need to pay extra for shipping.
